Daicel will inherit Polyplastics’ 35.5 percent duty and other rights and obligations, while Daicel HPP Taiwan will inherit Polyplastics Taiwan’s 3.8 percent duty. The ministry said production equipment, capacity, suppliers, customers and sales channels hadn’t materially changed following a business transfer and company-name change. Imports under the former Polyplastics Taiwan name will face the 32.6 percent rate applicable to other Taiwanese companies, while those under the former Polyplastics name will face the 35.5 percent rate for other Japanese companies.
