Philippine antitrust agency probes competition in concert ticketing

( August 20, 2026, 03:00 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Philippine Competition Commission is conducting a market study of the concert ticketing industry to understand consumer experiences and recommend measures to protect consumers and promote fair competition. In a survey posted Thursday, the regulator asks whether buyers knew of alternative official ticketing platforms for the same concert, whether ticket availability and purchase limits affected choices and whether fees influenced purchases. It also asks whether consumers would switch platforms, use resellers or abandon purchases if tickets were unavailable or sold through an unfamiliar platform.
