The ruling from the Lazio Regional Administrative Court confirmed the authority's investigative powers under its merger "call-in" regime, which allows it to probe deals that would usually be below the threshold for scrutiny, following an appeal by utility group Agsm Aim, now known as Magis.Companies must cooperate with information requests issued by Italy's competition authority even before a formal merger investigation has been opened, a lower Rome administrative court has ruled....
