Japan's Tokyo Gas unit loses laptop containing 20,000 customer records

( August 14, 2026, 02:23 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Tokyo Gas Network, the gas-pipeline subsidiary wholly owned by major Japanese utility Tokyo Gas, said Thursday that it had lost a company laptop containing about 20,000 customer records with personal information, including names and addresses. The company said it has found no evidence of unauthorized access to the laptop or misuse of customer information, and that the records don't include bank account, credit card or other financial information.Statement follows (in Japanese)....
