MEO appeals €87,500 fine over unlawful network installation in Portugal

( August 13, 2026, 14:03 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Portuguese telecom giant MEO has appealed a fine of €87,500 ($102,000) imposed by the country’s media regulator. Anacom issued the fine on May 21 for violations of the rules regarding network installation. According to the regulator, MEO failed to use existing infrastructure, occupied spaces without justification, hindered other companies and executed operations without the necessary permits. The appeal will now be handled by the Court of Competition, Regulation and Supervision.Statement follows (in Portuguese)....
