Australia government reverses course on changes to Big Tech tax to fund news

The scheme would require major digital platforms to fund news deals or pay a 2.5 percent tax on Australian digital-advertising revenue. The final bill requires platforms to make deals with at least eight news outlets, while raising the maximum share of the offset available to any one outlet to 25 percent.
