( August 10, 2026, 06:00 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Chinese generative artificial intelligence companies continued to expand in the first half of 2026, with 55,000 newly established companies, up 28 percent from a year earlier, the State Administration for Market Regulation said in a statement released Monday. China registered 561,000 new companies across eight emerging and nine future industries in the first half of 2026, including next-generation information technology, new energy, high-end equipment, humanoid robotics, generative AI and quantum information. During the same period, the country registered 116,000 new humanoid-robotics companies, up 9.5 percent. High-tech manufacturing grew as well, with 15,000 new companies established in the first half. New spacecraft and launch-vehicle manufacturers rose 185.7 percent, fiber and cable manufacturers increased 129.4 percent and integrated-circuit manufacturers rose 24.2 percent.Statement follows (in Chinese). ...
