Tennessee's lawyers countered with an internal Meta chat, however, suggesting teen protections were weighed against public-relations benefits and return on investment. Melissa Hunt, a psychologist testifying for the state, ended her third day of testimony saying Instagram's parental controls for teen accounts had very low adoption and that the platform harms up to 30 percent of young users, despite its benefits for many teens.A jury in Nashville heard divergent views Wednesday of Meta Platforms’ commitment to protecting the safety and privacy of teens, as a Meta executive and a psychologist for the state of Tennessee presented opposing takes on Instagram’s treatment of young users....
