China condemns US addition of 40-plus entities to forced-labor list

( August 3, 2026, 03:28 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: China has condemned and opposed the US decision to add more than 40 Chinese entities to its Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act entity list, calling the move baseless sanctions and economic coercion, China’s Ministry of Commerce said in a statement issued Saturday. The ministry said the measures harm the companies’ legitimate rights and disrupt global supply chains. It noted the US action came one day after Chinese and US economic and trade officials held a video call on stabilizing bilateral ties. China denied that forced labor exists in Xinjiang, urged the US to stop targeting Chinese companies and said it would take necessary measures to protect the companies' interests.Statement follows (in Chinese). ...
