( July 30, 2026, 08:58 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Seven South Korean biofuel manufacturers and sellers, including DS Dansuk, Aekyung Chemical, SK EcoPrime, SK Chemicals, face possible antitrust sanctions over an alleged biofuel cartel affecting tenders worth about 9.7 trillion won ($6.7 billion). The Korea Fair Trade Commission said Thursday its investigators had issued an examiner’s report alleging that the companies coordinated bids and allocated volumes in biodiesel and bio-heavy-oil tenders from December 2013 to February 2025. The companies accounted for about 80 percent of participants in the biodiesel tenders and nearly all participants in the bio-heavy-oil tenders examined. The examiner classified the conduct as a “very serious violation” and recommended corrective orders, fines and criminal referrals against the companies and current and former executives. The regulator will decide liability and sanctions after an eight-week defense period.Statement is attached (in Korean)....
