( July 29, 2026, 05:06 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Indonesia's Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs is consulting digital platforms, media companies and other stakeholders as it develops a copyright framework for the artificial intelligence era, Deputy Communications and Digital Affairs Minister Nezar Patria said in a statement issued on Wednesday. Nezar said after meeting with Google representatives that the government is assessing how AI affects the sustainability of the media industry, including the use of journalistic content for AI development and licensing arrangements between digital platforms and news publishers. The ministry said it will hold further consultations with the ministries responsible for law, culture and the creative economy, along with industry stakeholders, as part of discussions on the draft Copyright Law.
