Zoetis-Neogen genomics business deal raises concerns for New Zealand regulator

The New Zealand Commerce Commission said it was concerned that global animal health company Zoetis’ proposed acquisition of Neogen Corporation would substantially lessen competition because of unilateral effects, leading to higher prices or a reduction in quality or service. The regulator said that Zoetis and Neogen are the two main providers of genomic testing for beef cattle in New Zealand.
