South Korea, AMD agree to cooperate on heterogeneous AI computing infrastructure
( July 27, 2026, 03:01 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: South Korea's Ministry of Science and ICT said Monday that it signed a memorandum of understanding with Advanced Micro Devices to build heterogeneous artificial-intelligence computing infrastructure linking AMD's CPUs and GPUs with South Korean NPUs. Under the agreement, signed on July 23 in San Francisco, the two sides will cooperate to develop an integrated computing environment that efficiently combines and uses diverse computing resources tailored to the requirements of different AI services. AMD also agreed to support AI for science research at South Korea's National AI for Science Research Center by providing high-performance computing resources, AI software and specialized personnel.The statement is attached (in Korean)....
