( July 23, 2026, 23:00 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Direct purchasers of PVC pipe products filed a reply supporting the US Department of Justice's motion to extend and modify a discovery stay as part of a US price-fixing case. The direct purchasers also oppose nonsettling defendants' proposed modified stay order, as they "seek to create more of an 'information disparity' and 'asymmetric access' by providing Non-Settling Defendants access to the grand jury productions obtained by Plaintiffs through settlement agreements, while continuing to bar Plaintiffs from having access to the Non-Settling Defendants' grand jury productions," according to the filing in the Northern District of Illinois. The direct purchasers have entered into four settlements with defendants Westlake, Atkore, Otter Tail and Pipeline totaling about $200 million as a result of the status quo with respect to grand jury productions, and if the non-settling defendants' proposal were adopted, that would adversely affect the direct purchasers and potentially make future settlements more difficult, the filing said.See attached document....
