Dutch aid to reduce ammonia emissions in protected areas gets EU clearance

The program is open to farmers with sites in or within 1,000 meters of Natura 2000 nature protection areas, and will take the form of grants covering as much as 110 percent of the costs. The European Commission said the aid totaling €715 million was “necessary and appropriate” to benefit the environment and nature quality, and would support the EU’s biodiversity goals.Statement follows....
