Epic-Google get draft approval for settlement from Australian watchdog

The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission on Wednesday proposed to grant authorization until Sept. 30, 2032, saying the settlement is likely to lower Google Play service fees for many Australian developers, boost competition in app distribution and payment processing, and potentially lead to lower prices and greater investment in app development. The watchdog said the proposed settlement would allow developers greater flexibility to direct users to alternative payment methods outside Google Play Billing.
