Deputy Privacy Commissioner Jose Amelito S. Belarmino II urged businesses to understand how personal data flows through AI systems before deployment and integrate AI governance with privacy compliance rather than treating them as separate workstreams.Organizations in the Philippines deploying third-party artificial intelligence systems remain responsible for complying with the country's data protection law whenever those systems process personal data, the country's privacy regulator warned, even when AI services are supplied or operated by external vendors....
