France to ban social media for under-15s from September

( July 22, 2026, 08:58 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: France has approved a law banning new social media accounts for children under the age of 15 starting on Sept. 1, the first EU country to do so, following a vote in the country's Senate on Tuesday. Under-15s with an existing social media account will have to abide by the ban by Jan., 1, 2027. Educational platforms, such as online encyclopedias, are exempt from the new law.Law attached....
