Mobile and Wi-Fi to share 6GHz spectrum under new UK regulation
( July 20, 2026, 10:44 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The UK’s upper 6 gigahertz spectrum can be shared between mobile and Wi-Fi services, telecom regulator Ofcom said on Monday. Under the plan, Wi-Fi will have priority in the lower 160 megahertz of the band, and mobile services will have priority in the upper 540 megahertz of the band. The Wi-Fi priority portion of the band will be available on the same license exempt basis as already exists for the lower band.
