Mobile and Wi-Fi to share 6GHz spectrum under new UK regulation

( July 20, 2026, 10:44 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The UK’s upper 6 gigahertz spectrum can be shared between mobile and Wi-Fi services, telecom regulator Ofcom said on Monday. Under the plan, Wi-Fi will have priority in the lower 160 megahertz of the band, and mobile services will have priority in the upper 540 megahertz of the band. The Wi-Fi priority portion of the band will be available on the same license exempt basis as already exists for the lower band. Draft regulations for its implantation are under consultation until Sept. 7.Documents are attached....
