Construction chemical-producers suspected of colluding on price increases in EU

( July 20, 2026, 09:45 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Producers of construction chemicals in France, Germany and Spain, including Cemex, Master Builders Solutions and Sika, and three national trade associations have been told by the European Commission that they are suspected of breaching EU antitrust rules by colluding on price increases for chemical additives for cement and chemical admixtures for concrete and mortar. The regulator said it had preliminary concerns that between 2021 and 2022 the manufacturers coordinated future price increases in response to rising raw material costs driven by the COVID pandemic and the war in Ukraine. The suspected coordination took place in the context of the preparation of press releases within national trade associations aimed at justifying the price increases, the commission said in a statement on Monday. The press release follows....
