Macron calls for faster EU Commission trade response to Chinese overcapacity

Speaking alongside German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, he said France and Germany are closely aligned on China, backing continued dialogue with Beijing while insisting the EU must be ready to act swiftly to protect its industrial base. The two sides are preparing a roadmap by September. The European Commission needs to be able to act quicker with emergency measures if European businesses are at risk from Chinese overcapacity, French President Emmanuel Macron said at a Franco-German summit in Germany on Friday....
