Endeavour Group's bid for Australian liquor-store site approved

( July 13, 2026, 03:17 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Endeavour Group's proposed acquisition of a leasehold site in New South Wales to open a Dan Murphy's liquor store has been approved by Australia's competition watchdog. The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission on Monday said the proposed store in Sydney would face competition from multiple nearby liquor retailers, and overlap with Endeavour's existing stores would be limited. The regulator said the acquisition, including Endeavour's previous acquisitions over the past three years, would not meaningfully change competition in the broader market. The watchdog said concerns raised about the site's liquor license and suitability for liquor retailing fell outside the scope of its competition assessment.Statement follows.
