Indonesia joins global AI cooperation organization as founding member
( July 17, 2026, 03:05 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Indonesia became a founding member of the World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization, or WAICO, on Thursday after Coordinating Economic Affairs Minister Airlangga Hartarto signed the organization's founding agreement at the World Artificial Intelligence Conference in Shanghai. The government said WAICO is an independent intergovernmental organization established to promote international cooperation and governance for civilian artificial intelligence.
