China, Netherlands support talks to resolve Nexperia-Wingtech dispute

( July 16, 2026, 07:52 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: China and the Netherlands agreed that both governments should create favorable conditions for companies to resolve commercial disputes through negotiations, following recent talks between Chinese Commerce Minister Wang Wentao and Dutch Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation Sjoerd Sjoerdsma in Beijing. Responding Thursday to a media question about the dispute involving Netherlands' Nexperia and China's Wingtech Technology, China's Ministry of Commerce said at a regular press briefing that both ministers used the 18th China-Netherlands Joint Economic and Trade Commission meeting to exchange candid views on bilateral and China-EU trade ties. The two sides also agreed to support companies to resolve disputes through consultations while safeguarding the stability and security of the global semiconductor supply chain.Excerpt of the transcript follows (in Chinese)....
