Peter Warren-Wakeling deal notified with remedy offer, Australian regulator says

( July 16, 2026, 08:16 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Peter Warren Automotive’s proposed acquisition of 30 Wakeling Automotive dealership sites is under review by the Australian competition watchdog after the parties notified the deal again with a remedy proposal. In a statement on Wednesday, the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission said that Peter Warren's remedy offer would provide a court-enforceable undertaking, which would require Peter Warren to divest eight dealerships across two locations in Sydney’s Macarthur region to a watchdog-approved purchaser. The regulator is seeking feedback on the remedy until July 21. The deal was first notified in March and withdrawn in June after the regulator referred it to a Phase 2 review.Statement follows.
