Google’s €1.5bn AdSense fine should be reinstated, EU’s top court told (update*)

It said that lower-court judges, who faulted the commission for not looking in more detail at the Google contracts in question, imposed too-high a burden. Google maintained that rivals could compete for contracts when up for renewal. Google’s €1.49 billion ($1.7 billion) antitrust fine for restricting competition in online ads and favoring its own AdSense service should be reinstated, EU enforcers told the bloc’s top judges on Wednesday....
