EU non-financial sector sees plan for harmonized AML risk assessment standards

( July 13, 2026, 13:32 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The EU’s Anti-Money Laundering Authority has released a consultation on proposed technical standards for assessing money laundering and terrorist financing risks across the bloc’s non-financial sectors, aiming to create harmonized, proportionate rules for supervisors. The proposals nuance sector-specific risk indicators for legal professionals, estate agents, gambling operators and dealers in high-value goods. They also reduce reporting requirements for smaller businesses and encourage supervisors to use existing data where possible. The consultation deadline is Sept. 27.
