South Korea unveils plan for free, unlimited homegrown AI chatbot service
( July 13, 2026, 08:11 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: South Korea announced Monday that it will launch the "AI for All" initiative, under which two or three private companies will be selected by August to develop a general-purpose artificial intelligence chatbot service that all citizens can use free of charge without usage limits. Under the initiative, the selected companies will launch the full chatbot service before the end of this year, the Ministry of Science and ICT said. The service will also include a public AI agent that will proactively identify government services for which citizens are eligible, notify them in advance and even complete applications on their behalf, the ministry added.The statement is attached (in Korean)....
