Discovery have secured Brazilian antitrust clearance for their proposed $110 billion merger after the competition regulator's investigative arm concluded the deal is unlikely to harm competition, despite creating one of the country's largest film distributors, because of strong remaining rivals and the dynamic nature of the theatrical distribution market. The decision is not yet final, however, as the agency's Tribunal can still call the case for review within 15 days of the publication of the Superintendence's approval.
