UK's antitrust watchdog reports £3.3bn of annual consumer benefits

( July 9, 2026, 12:57 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The UK's antitrust regulator generated estimated average annual direct consumer benefits of £3.3 billion ($4.4 billion) over the last three-year period, compared with average annual relevant costs of £133.6 million, the Competition and Markets Authority said in its annual report and impact assessment documents. It had returned an estimated average of almost £25 pounds in consumer benefits for every pound spent on its operations over the last three years, above the £10 target benefit set by the government, it said. Documents are attached....
