Porn platform fined in UK for lack of age checks, failing to respond to Ofcom

( July 9, 2026, 09:39 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The provider of fapello.com, a pornographic website, has been fined £600,000 in the UK for not having age checks in place as mandated under the Online Safety Act, and a further £30,000 for failing to respond to the regulator. Ofcom announced on Thursday it’s expanding the scope of its investigation into the provider of kemono.cr, and opening an new one into Bit Hive, which operates eporner.com. The probes are part of Ofcom’s age-assurance enforcement program to protect children from encountering pornography online.Statement follows....
