SolidWorks's distributors in South Korea fined for price-fixing, customer allocation
( July 9, 2026, 04:13 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: South Korean distributors of SolidWorks, computer-aided design and engineering software by Dassault Systemes, have been fined a combined 2.37 billion won ($1.5 million) by the country’s competition regulator for collusion. The Korea Fair Trade Commission said Thursday that it imposed corrective orders and fines on eight distributors, including Node Data, Maven and Solco for colluding on minimum resale prices and agreeing not to compete in software supplies to customers. The regulator found that the companies agreed between August 2021 and July 2024 through in-person meetings and mobile messages to set minimum resale prices for SolidWorks products. They also agreed not to compete for customers already served by or first approached by another distributor and to submit quotations above an agreed price threshold.
