China's Guangxi steps up fair-competition reviews with AI platform, policy audit

( July 9, 2026, 03:41 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: China’s Guangxi market regulator has launched a special campaign to strengthen the country’s fair-competition review regime, targeting local protectionism and other measures that fragment the national market. According to a statement released by the State Administration for Market Regulation on Wednesday, the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Market Regulation Bureau plans to tighten review procedures for new policies, scrutinize areas including investment promotion, fiscal subsidies, public procurement and the platform economy, and prohibit authorities from bypassing mandatory competition reviews. The plan also calls for a review of business-related policies issued since 2019, random inspections of at least 200 policy documents this year, the rollout of an AI-powered fair-competition review platform and consideration of incorporating review performance into local government assessments.Statement follows (in Chinese)....
