NXP, Analog Devices face South Korean antitrust deliberations

( July 8, 2026, 03:01 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: NXP Semiconductors and Analog Devices have received examiners’ reports from South Korea’s antitrust watchdog, formally launching deliberation proceedings over allegations that the global chipmakers violated the country’s competition law through their distributor-sales practices. The Korea Fair Trade Commission said Wednesday NXP allegedly granted de facto exclusive distribution rights and predetermined distributors’ profit margins under its Ship & Debit program, while ADI fixed distributors’ margins and imposed resale prices. The examiners recommended corrective orders and administrative fines, estimating relevant sales at about $880 million and $660 million for NXP’s alleged violations and about $800 million for each of ADI’s alleged violations, which could carry fines of up to 4 percent of relevant sales. The regulator said the companies will have an opportunity to submit written defenses before it reaches a final decision.Statement is attached (in Korean)....
