South Korea to help spur adoption of locally developed AI chips

( July 7, 2026, 05:10 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: South Korea opened a technical support center Tuesday to help local developers and designers of artificial intelligence semiconductors find customers in the early stages of their businesses, part of the government's effort to build a globally competitive AI chip ecosystem. The Ministry of Science and ICT said the support center was established at the Korea Association for AI & ICT Promotion in Seoul to help address barriers to wider adoption of domestically developed AI chips. Major challenges facing the potential customers include selecting products best suited to a user's operating environment, validating performance before deployment and optimizing software after deployment, the ministry said.The statement is attached (in Korean)....
