( July 3, 2026, 12:05 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The EU and Thailand made progress during the ninth round of negotiations on a future trade agreement, provisionally closing chapters on competition and subsidies, state-owned enterprises, dispute settlement and the automotive annex on technical barriers to trade, a European Commission report said. The talks, held in Brussels from June 22 to 26, advanced on services and investment, intellectual property, geographical indications, government procurement, rules of origin and tariff liberalization. Differences remain on sanitary and phytosanitary measures, certain product-specific rules of origin and energy and raw materials.
