Finnish Hockey League antitrust investigation ended by regulator after reforms

( July 2, 2026, 09:08 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: An antitrust investigation into Finland's Hockey League has been closed after the league made several changes to the way it was organized which were expected to improve competition, the Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority has said. A preliminary assessment had found the league's licensing conditions allowed it to determine which teams could access the market and how strong competition would be. Since then the league had restricted its powers, including shifting licensing to an external organization and no longer requiring clubs to buy a share in the league, the regulator said, adding that it would monitor the implementation of the changes. Statement follows. ...
