The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission in a Tuesday statement said the companies overlap in the supply of container liner-shipping services between Asia and Australia, specifically in trade between Australia's east coast and ports in China and South Korea. Hapag-Lloyd, headquartered in Germany, is the world's fifth-largest container liner-shipping company, but it has no presence in Australia's freight-forwarding market, while ZIM also has a limited presence in the same market, the watchdog said.
