EU’s Cloud and AI Development Act will increase dependency on US tech, CISPE warns

Most independent providers can’t meet the conditions for digital sovereignty under the Cloud and AI Development Act. The European Commission said sovereignty isn't based on the nationality of the service provider, but on whether the innovation and the technology built into the service were designed, developed and manufactured in Europe.A European association of cloud service providers has said that CAIDA — the EU’s proposed Cloud and AI Development Act — will increase dependency on US-technology, rather than boost sovereignty....
