US FTC, states sue ad agencies over misinformation standards

( June 30, 2026, 17:53 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The US Federal Trade Commission and eight state attorneys general filed an antitrust complaint against The Interpublic Group of Companies, Omnicom Group, Dentsu US, GroupM Worldwide and Publicis over the ad agencies’ decision to use the same “brand safety” standards to avoid buying ads on websites containing misinformation. According to the complaint, the agreement insulated the agencies from the competitive pressures that would otherwise have existed for them to improve and differentiate their brand-safety offerings with the goal of capturing business from each other.See attached file....
