CforAT moves for testimony, evidentiary hearings on Charter-Cox settlements

( June 29, 2026, 16:11 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Center for Accessible Technology filed a motion for a ruling from the California Public Utilities Commission, requesting that dates be set for testimony and evidentiary hearings regarding Charter Communications' proposed settlements with Cal Advocates and the California Emerging Technology Fund over its proposed acquisition of Cox Communications. CforAT argues that there "material factual disputes" regarding the settlements and that the Commission's rules require hearings to resolve these issues. CforAT also argues that the costs and risks associated with delaying the transaction alone, or "adverse practical consequences," are not grounds for denying hearings on the settlements.See document attached....
