Meta, YouTube, Netflix may be required to show UK public service content
( June 23, 2026, 10:06 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Social media platforms such as Meta Platform’s Instagram and Facebook and video platforms such as YouTube and Netflix could be required to make public service content more prominent in the UK under proposals set out in a 10-week consultation. The plans also set out new rules for TV distribution and consider measures to support public service broadcasters.
