( June 23, 2026, 04:08 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Coupang and its private-label unit CPLB have secured final approval from South Korea’s antitrust regulator for the first consent order finalized under the subcontracting law over alleged unfair subcontract-price reductions. In a statement Tuesday, the Korea Fair Trade Commission said the companies had faced allegations that they issued defective written contracts to 314 suppliers and reduced supply prices for 94 suppliers during promotional events not covered by prior agreements. Under the plan, they will improve order-form signing procedures, execute product-specific agreements setting minimum order quantities and lead times, and sign separate promotional-event agreements capping suppliers’ share of promotional costs at 50 percent. They will also provide 3 billion won ($2 million) in supplier-support measures, including product-development, online advertising, offline promotion and market-expansion support. The commission said the package outweighed the likely level of sanctions and could improve trading conditions for subcontractors.Statement is attached (in Korean)....
