Proposed Charter settlements in Calif. vague, inadequate, Utility Reform Network says
( June 17, 2026, 16:30 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Proposed settlements between Charter Communications, Cox Communications, the California Emerging Technology Fund and Cal Advocates contain vague language, are inadequate to address harms associated with the discontinuance for DEI policies and don't resolve issues with promotional pricing, the Utility Reform Network (TURN) argued in its reply comment. TURN also took issue with the $30 million Charter proposed to give to the CETF for digital equity efforts and asked the California Public Utilities Commission to create a statewide pooled fund. TURN recommended that CPUC reject the memorandum of understanding, propose alternative terms and impose additional conditions.See document attached....
