Germany sets out reform of merger-control thresholds, enforcement
( May 29, 2026, 21:20 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Germany's Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy has published a draft of a 12th amendment to the country's Act against Restraints of Competition that proposes a series of changes to the national competition framework intended to streamline antitrust procedures, ease administrative burdens for businesses and grant new investigatory powers to the antitrust regulator, the Bundeskartellamt. The proposal was drawn up as a response to the coalition government's pledge to speed up enforcement and make it more efficient.
