South Korea proposes greater role for complainants in KFTC proceedings
( June 16, 2026, 02:01 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: South Korea’s antitrust regulator has proposed amendments to its case-procedure rules to give complainants a greater role in enforcement proceedings. The Korea Fair Trade Commission said Tuesday examiners would have to notify complainants when a case report is submitted for deliberation, giving them earlier notice that a case is moving toward a formal hearing. The proposal would also let complainants join pre-hearing opinion sessions, where examiners and respondent companies appear before commissioners to present their views and narrow the issues before formal deliberations. Other changes include requiring false-advertising complainants to disclose whether they have filed the same complaint with another government agency, with consultation running through July 7.Statement is attached (in Korean). ...
