China urges US to remove companies from military list, vows countermeasures
( June 15, 2026, 06:13 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: China’s Ministry of Commerce urged the US to revoke its decision to add several Chinese companies to the Defense Department’s “Chinese military companies” list, saying in a statement published Saturday that the move abused national security concerns and harmed the companies’ lawful rights and interests. The ministry said the US ignored the broader China-US economic and trade relationship, damaged international economic and trade order, and threatened global supply-chain stability. China will take “firm and forceful” countermeasures if the US doesn’t stop the practice and withdraw the measures, the ministry said. The statement followed a June 8 US Defense Department decision to add Chinese companies to its annual updated list under Section 1260H of the fiscal 2021 National Defense Authorization Act.Statement follows (in Chinese). ...
