Paramount-Warner deal 'not likely to result in harm,' US DOJ says, ending probe

( June 12, 2026, 21:59 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The US Department of Justice closed its investigation into Paramount Global's proposed acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery, finding that the deal is "not likely to result in harm to competition or American consumers," the agency said in a statement. The government said the deal would not harm streaming video on demand, linear television or studio development, or production and distribution of films for theatrical release. "These investigative efforts all led to the same conclusion: the film and television industry is highly dynamic, and the proposed transaction is not likely to harm competition or American consumers," the DOJ said.See full release below....
