Dolby ratchets up the pressure on Snap in global HEVC, AV1 patent fight

The filings add new video-coding patents to the litigation and reiterate a position that neither Dolby nor pool administrator Access Advance are bound by reasonable and nondiscriminatory (RAND) principles when it comes to AV1.An amended complaint by Dolby Video Compression LLC and Dolby International AB (Dolby, collectively) more than doubles the number of patents asserted against Snap Inc. in the US and expands the technical allegations underlying their claim that the social media company's video encoding, decoding and transcoding systems infringe....
