Meta, state AGs seek to exclude evidence in US social media trial

( June 10, 2026, 19:51 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Meta Platforms and 29 state attorneys general filed motions in limine seeking to exclude certain evidence in an upcoming trial over social media's alleged harms to kids. Meta wants to block the states from using evidence about Meta’s age-verification practices, cosmetic-surgery filters and other third-party filters as proof of unfair or unconscionable practices, along with limiting testimony from former employees and preventing the states from arguing that it failed to warn the public about youth safety risks. The states are seeking to block Meta from using testimony from state witnesses about the states’ own social media use, public programs or policies, arguing that such evidence has no bearing on whether Meta misled consumers or engaged in unfair practices. They also seek to keep Meta from introducing later platform and policy changes made after the relevant discovery period.See attached filings....
